How to remove red wine stains from a carpet

To remove red wine stains from carpet, you’ll need to act fast for the best chance of full stain removal. While the stain is still wet, gently absorb as much liquid as you can using a paper towel or a clean dishcloth. If you’re removing wine stains from fabric that has dried, don’t panic – move straight to the next step. Use our Resolve® Carpet Stain Remover Trigger and watch it work its magic:

 

Step 1

Spray the product onto the stain and leave to sit for 5 minutes (max)

Step 2

Gently blot with a clean, absorbent cloth to mop up excess liquid

Step 3

Repeat steps 1-2 as many times as necessary until the stain has gone

How to remove red wine stains from clothes

To remove red wine stains from shirts, jeans or other washable clothing, try to tackle it immediately following the below steps.

 

White clothes

To remove red wine stains from white clothing, you can either pre-treat your items using Resolve Oxi-Action® Crystal White Powder. Just follow the instructions below:

 

Step 1

Mix ½ a scoop of the Resolve® powder with 10 ml of water (max 40°) to form a paste   

Step 2

Gently rub the paste into the stain using the scoop provided  

Step 3

Leave the formula on the stain for 5 minutes maximum

Step 4

Pour an additional scoop of Resolve® powder into your washing machine or in the dispenser for High Efficiency (HE) machines. Do not mix the powder with liquid HE detergent in the dispenser.

 

Coloured clothes:

To remove red wine stains from coloured clothes, use Resolve Oxi-Action® Trigger following these simple pre-treat steps:

 

Step 1

Dab the stain away with a paper towel or clean dishcloth, which should draw out the stain

Step 2

Spray the product directly onto the stain, covering it completely

Step 3

Leave the solution to work for 5 minutes maximum

Step 4

Wash according to the care level instructions in the warmest water recommended

How to remove other wine stains from clothes

Even though white and rosé wine are slightly more subtle, all wines contain tannins so there is always a chance that a stain could crop up on your favourite items. To remove white wine stains from clothes, simply turn your garment inside out and rinse the back of the stain with cold water before following the instructions as per red wine. Due to the colourful tint in rosé, you need to treat this the same way you would a red wine stain.
