For the best chance at success when trying to remove oil from fabrics, you need to treat the mark as soon as possible to prevent it from setting. To stop the stain from spreading through to the other side of the garment, take a clean paper towel or dishcloth and use a blotting motion to stop the spread of the stain.

Avoid water: when faced with food oil stains, it can be tempting to try and banish them with water. Unfortunately, oil stains are hydrophobic which means they repel water molecules. So only add water to the stain if you are treating it immediately with Resolve®.
